Maurine F. Bailey Cultural Foundation

Statement from the Founder and Chairman Kingston Ducoeur

As the Founder

During the 1990's, Mrs. Maurine F. Bailey (my god-mother) and I spoke often about her legacy. Her one and only request was that she be remembered as a good wife, and a quality educator. I promised her that I would do my very best to immortalize her-hopefully-far beyond her genuinely humble request. Maurine F. Bailey passed away on July 19, 2000, at the age of 99 years. As the founder of the Maurine F. Bailey Cultural Foundation Inc., I am pleased and grateful that this foundation bears her name, and has a track record of successfully serving young people for the past ten years, in a manner of which she would be proud.

As the Chairman

I accept the honor and the challenge to provide the vision and the leadership that will assure the success of our mission. I solemnly pledge that my primary focus and my enduring efforts will be to build the Maurine F. Bailey Cultural Foundation far beyond the status quo. It is my firm belief that with God's help and the growing support of our public and private partners, we shall continue to build and succeed with this noble mission.
